I’ve been searching SO LONG for the perfect nude lipstick shade and I now I’ve finally found it! It’s MAC’s Jubilee in Lustre which is flawless. The colour is a peachy brown which is quite subtle so you can build it up.
The colour totally suits my colourings which is dark hair, blue eyes, pale skin and freckles
You know what it’s like; you have a favourite shade of lipstick, eyeshadow or blusher and once it’s used up you really struggle to replace it. I’ve been searching for a nice pink eyeshadow to replace a small pink eyeshadow bought for me years ago in a make up set. I’m still endeavouring to buy toxin free make up so this made the search even harder- an eyeshadow from Illamasqua was pretty much bang on but a look at the ingredients revealed that it contained parabens so it was not to be! I finally settled on this beautiful MAC shade Sweet Acting which is a Pressed Pigment and is lovely and sparkly. I’m also pretty happy that it’s MAC as it’s my favourite make up brand!
The lady in the shop demonstrated that the eyeshadow works a lot better over an eye primer as it gave the colour something to hold onto. I had previously just used ysl’s touche eclat as an eyeshadow primer but after trying a real primer I’ve noticed a huge difference; eye make up is so much easier to apply, including liquid eyeliner on top of eyeshadow, there’s no smudged and it lasts all day without disappearing into the creases- I’m definitely sold! I bought MAC’s painterly Pro longwear paint pot which is the lightest shade and works under all eyeshadows.
Soo….I have now discovered lookbook! I really love this site as it’s great for fashion browsing, outfit inspiration and introducing you to new shops/brands- in fact I have actually already bought 4 items just from seeing them modelled on lookbook! With all my free time I have decided to post some of my outfits too so expect lots of posey pictures from me from now on (sorry)!!!

Today’s make up is a copy of what JLO’s wore to the What to expect when you’re expecting premier.
I found a great tutorial online that I followed to get the look!
I didn’t use the exact same make up as the girl in the vid, instead I used:
Dr Organic Anti Ageing Cream as my moisturiser
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
YSL Touche Eclat
MAC select sheer loose powder
MAC Golden bronzing powder
No 7 Wheatsheaf shadow
Barry M Gold Eyedust
Benefit high brow
Australis black eye pencil
Collection 2000 Black eyeliner
Diorshow Extase mascara
Bronzer is brilliant. I have pale and freckly English/Irish skin so I really benefit from using it especially when I have washed out winter skin or I’ve put on a bit of weight (it normally goes straight to my face) and I need a bit of contouring. Up until recently my blusher was bought from a discount make up and toiletries shop, it did the job, wasn’t really anything special but when the plastic container broke and the blusher spread itself inside the contents of my make up bag it was time to get something new. Since choosing to lead a more toxic free lifestyle where I have been watching what I eat, using more eco and body friendly household products, toiletries and make up I decided it was time to upgrade.
My current two favourite make up brands are Benefit and MAC- because they offer good quality, high end, fashion forward and often unique products.
My first port of call was Benefit as I’m a big fan of their cheek stains, I had a look at their Hoola bronzing powder, but upon checking out the ingredients I discovered it contained 3 different types of paraben, that coupled with the fact that the assistant was ignoring me I decided this was a big no and I would go elsewhere. What’s the point in paying for a more expensive product if it’s full of toxic ingredients?
I went into MAC which was a far more preferable experience, the shop assistants were really helpful and introduced me their range of bronzers, I was really impressed by their Bronzing Powder in Golden which one of the assistants applied and it really seemed to change the structure of my face and had the added bonus of gorgeous shimmery gold particles and a nice compact case with a mirror so it’s far better then any other bronzer that I have seen or used. The final push was the fact that it doesn’t contain any parabens- so there you go! I’m now the faithful owner of Mac’s Bronzing Powder in Golden and I doubt I will ever deviate from that product in the future! It’s really sad but I actually really look forward to applying this product whenever I put make up on.
